Bees advance to Semifinals after a 2-1 win over the visiting V-Hawk

St. Ambrose women's soccer claimed victory over the visiting Viterbo V-hawks for the first game of the CCAC Tournament at St. Vincent's Athletic Complex on Tuesday evening.

The Bees came out strong in the first half, controlling possession and creating multiple chances early. Their pressure paid off in the 14th minute of the match when Sophia Roszkowski broke through the defense and buried a goal to give St. Ambrose the lead.

The momentum continued midway through the first half as Isabella Crawford doubled the advantage with a goal off a free kick in the 30th minute of the match to put the Bees ahead 2–0 going into halftime.

Viterbo did not want this to be their last game of the season. In the 53rd minute, they cut the lead to one and were persistent on maintaining opportunities in the final minutes of the match. The Bees' defense held strong, capturing the 2-1 victory.

Goalkeepers Ella Oscarsson and Jonna Tucker combined for five saves on six total shots on goal.

St. Ambrose outshot Viterbo 21–7 and held an 8–4 advantage in corner kicks. Jenna Horst led the attack with seven shots, and Crawford trailed next with three. Mia Hefner, Mia Vetter, and Olivia Infante all added two shots while Daniya El-Zein, Addie Kerkhoff, Lauren Bendall, Veronica Gordon, and Roszkowski each followed with one.

With the win, the Bees move to the CCAC Tournament Semifinals, where they will travel to #2 St. Xavier in Chicago, Illinois, with the time yet to be set.
