St. Ambrose saw its modest two-match conference winning streak come to an end following a 25-22, 26-24, 25-21 loss at Indiana Northwest Thursday night.
In a match that saw SAU finish with 25 kills and 24 errors (.008 hitting percentage) and IU Northwest total 31 kills and 23 errors (.070 hitting percentage), it was the RedHawks who came up with enough plays at the end of each set.
Alexa Orozco led the Bees with eight kills. Mackenzie Grafton finished with six. Kennedy Hugunin had four, Grace Beitzel three and Sofia Pabon Velazquez two in the loss. Kylie Brosius and Ella Gatz each put down one kill.
Haley Doucet was credited with a team-best 12 assists. Ines Marques had four along with three service aces. Kaleigh Bergschneider also had an ace.
Kenia Diaz Vega picked up 16 digs, while Grafton had eight and Orozco and Marques had seven apiece.
SAU (7-11, 2-4 CCAC) will look to get back to its winning ways Tuesday at Saint Xavier.
