Conforti named NAIA Third Team All-American

NAIA Baseball All-American Team

St. Ambrose first baseman Jeremy Conforti was named an NAIA All-American as the national postseason baseball awards were announced by the league office. He was named to the third team.

It was a banner year for Conforti.

The senior from Villa Park, Ill., was named the CCAC Player of the Year after leading the Bees in batting average (.356), doubles (20), home runs (13) and RBIs (68). Conforti led the conference in RBIs and was second in the league in homers. He also stole 12 bases.

Conforti helped St. Ambrose earn a share of the CCAC regular-season championship by batting .373 (47-for-126) with 14 doubles, two triples and 10 home runs in 32 conference games. He drove in 46.

Conforti also did it defensively, earning the CCAC Gold Glove at first base after committing just two errors in 325 chances to finish with a .994 fielding percentage.

He becomes the first Bee to receive All-American recognition since J. Golden earned honorable mention in 2014, and the first SAU player to be named to an All-American team since Ben Martin earned second-team honors in 2005.
