Guzman named CCAC Pitcher of the Week for second time
CHICAGO --- Viterbo University's Xavier Gilmore (Washougal, Wash.) and St. Ambrose University's Dominic Guzman (Crystal Lake, Ill.) have claimed Week 6 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference baseball honors, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Guzman was recognized as the CCAC Pitcher of the Week following his 11-strikeout performance in a 2-0 decision over Olivet Nazarene University on Friday. The senior hurler worked the first six innings of the contest and allowed just two hits and three walks.
Guzman, who improved to 4-1 on the season, has not allowed an earned run in his last 16 innings on the mound.
St. Ambrose is now 4-2 in conference play and 9-10 overall after going 1-2 last week.
