Extra base hits propelled St. Ambrose to a split

St. Ambrose got out to an early lead in game one, scoring their lone run in the bottom of the second inning. After Parker Leonard had doubled to the left field, Ellie Downing collected a double of her own to the right field, driving in Leonard. Downing had three hits in the game, all being doubles, and one RBI. Leonard and Kylee Claypool collected hits as well. Leah Maro pitched five innings ringing up three Trolls batters.

Just like game one, the second game started with the Bees scoring early. Mady Reed fired up the team with a lead off the game with a triple deep to right field. She was driven in by a Downing single to right field a few at-bats later. St. Ambrose secured the win in the bottom of the sixth inning with three unanswered runs. Janna Bowser rounded out the Bees' scoring by coming in as a pinch hitter and singling through the infield, bringing home Justice Krus. The game ended with a phenomenal diving catch in center field by Reed. Krus, Leonard, and Reed each collected two hits in the game. Ada Boysen kept the Trolls' bats quiet by striking out six batters over 5.1 innings.

The Bees will be traveling to Elgin, Illinois, to take on the Judson Eagles on April 1st.
